Overview
Leadership Augusta hopes to team with Augusta-area
non-profit organizations in order to assist with community
projects that
can be completed either by an individual or by teams of Leadership
Augusta alumni. Selected projects may use different areas of
expertise and levels of ability in the Leadership Augusta alumni
pool; however, applicants are encouraged to think beyond requests
for manual labor or simple tasks and use this process as an
opportunity to bring leadership partners on board to address
an organization or community need.
The Community Service Application for the class of 2010 will be available here in January 2009.
If you have any questions please contact the Leadership Augusta office at 706-821-1308.
Objective:
Identify community projects where Leadership Augusta
alumni can take responsibility and become actively involved
in serving to meet the needs within our community.
Evaluation Criteria:
Each project proposal will go through
a selection process and be evaluated based on the following
criteria:
1. The extent to which participants will learn about a critical
community issue that your organization is attempting to address;
2. The extent to which the participants will be able to engage
in creative problem solving;
3. The extent to which the participants will have the realistic
chance of producing something specific and tangible as a result
of their work;
d. The commitment of the agency, and its ability to take
full advantage of the output of the project team.
e. The agency’s commitment to report
back to Leadership Augusta about any perceived strengths
and weaknesses of the
team and what the organization felt was accomplished in working
with the team members.
Limitation and Exclusions:
Please note that we will only accept proposals from non-profit
organizations whose tax-exempt status is 501 (c) (3).
No
funding from Leadership Augusta is provided.
Projects must
be completed through the time and efforts of program alumni.
Leadership Augusta is under no obligation to select any
project proposed.
Leadership Augusta reserves the right
to withdraw participation in a project for any reason, including
but not limited to,
lack of oversight and involvement
by the proposing organization, lack of sufficient resources from the proposing
organization to complete the project, or any other reason.
Leadership Augusta
is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the proposing
organization as a result of Leadership Augusta’s selection
of the project, alumni participation in the project, or withdrawal from the
project.
If the proposing organization intends to
seek or actually seeks media coverage of the project, Leadership
Augusta’s
Program Director must be contacted in advance so that the
proposing organization may request Leadership Augusta’s
approval to include mention of Leadership Augusta, its current or former
class members, or its logo in the media coverage.
